Leading logistics company, Great Bear, has recruited three Apprentices through West Cheshire College to help young people progress through the company.
Callum Haddock, Stephen Robinson and Thomas Turner have all been appointed as Transport Administrators to work at the company’s Port Sunlight base.
Liesl Ward, Regional Operations Director at Great Bear, said;
“After great consideration about succession planning within our traffic office environment, we decided to recruit and appoint three new Apprentices. We want to ensure that the Transport Planners and Transport Shift managers of the future understand the complexities of a transport contract from the grassroots. Each of our Apprentices will be nurtured and encouraged to grow with the business in the future”
Callum Haddock, 18, from Ellesmere Port, said:
“I decided to do an Apprenticeship as it gives me more flexibility than studying full-time. I really enjoy the fact that I am gaining a qualification whilst at the same time working and getting some fantastic experience. To be successful in securing an Apprenticeship with such a big company is amazing and I’m hoping that it will lead to a permanent job with Great Bear” commented Callum.
Sian Williams, Business Development Executive at West Cheshire College, said;
“We are delighted that Great Bear has selected West Cheshire College as their Apprenticeship provider. Their key business objective was to train their future workforce from the grassroots level and an Apprenticeship programme is a great way to achieve this. Callum, Stephen and Thomas have got a great opportunity working for Great Bear as it is one of the leading companies in their industry. I’m sure they will all benefit greatly from this fantastic experience.”
